If you liked Wonders of the Universe and Wonders of the Solar System and you cared about Why does E=mc2? then this book is for you!

Out this Thursday, The Quantum Universe by Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw is all about Quantum Physics!

But just what is quantum physics? How does it help us understand the world? Where does it leave Newton and Einstein? And why, above all, can we be sure that the theory is good? The bizarre behaviour of the atoms and energy that make up the universe has led to some very woolly pronouncements on the nature of all interconnectedness. Here, Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw give us the real science, and reveal the profound theories that allow for concrete, yet astonishing, predictions about the world. This is our most up-to-date picture of reality.

3 days to go - Shan’s super-scary series continues

With only 3 DAYS to go until Super Thursday, we’re busy getting ready in store for the publishing event of the year! Today though, we preview another fantastic title soon to be available: Darren Shan’s latest, Palace of the Damned.

In the third instalment in the creepy, captivating Larten Crepsley series, Larten finds out what it means to love! but is he also damned to find out what it means to lose? Lost in the arctic waste, carrying a baby whose love he could never deserve, Larten faces the darkest time he has ever known. But hope has a way of shining through even the smallest of cracks, and just as Larten reaches the end, a new beginning presents itself.

The trouble is, for Larten, the violence of his youth is never far from the surface! and those he loves are the ones he hurts the most. As Larten experiences heaven and hell, and tries to save the soul of a child, the question is: can he save his own?

We think you’ll agree it sounds like a great read - so why not come by on Thursday and grab yourself a copy from your favourite local bookshop! We’d love to see you!

Not long now to go, but we still have two cracking books to preview before they’re let loose on Thursday, so check back tomorrow for the next one - we think a lot of people will be interested in them, in traditional countdown fashion, we’ve saved the best til’ last!

Cheers,
The Doncaster Team
